A security researcher reported that there had been a huge database leak happen which have a total number of almost 33.7 million and among them, there are more than 100,000 military personnel is listed, which is a big technological disaster for the Dun & Bradstreet Company.
According to a researcher named Troy Hunt, who published the details about the leak on Tuesday, and also revealed that a large file of 52.2 GB from an unknown source recently, which is the data having records of exactly 33,698,126 people from the country. And, also these records includes an individuals’ names, occupations, email addresses, phone numbers, even the physical addresses.
The source of these leaks are confirmed of Dun & Bradstreet because on every file there is a contact id written on it, but that was not of the company’s; instead it is of “NetProspex,” which is a company acquired by Dun & Bradstreet in the year 2015. This NetProspex is a data management specialist company, which is permanently closed by D&B too.
The Department of Defense, have pretty much concerned about the list, which has more than 100,000 of its personnel listed, who are included from multiple ranks and divisions in the armed forces. There have been a large number of employees from large enterprises also listed in the database, which also raises a bigger concern on publics, as Hunt published a blog on the internet.
This anonymous leak on millions of people has sure created a large back push and panic among the people.
