Volkswagen Introducing ‘I.D. Buzz’ As an Electric Microbus

Volkswagen has confirmed that it will be launching the ‘I.D. Buzz’ version for an electric microbus and iconic hippy bus associated with free wheeling road trip to the Woodstock.This electrical vehicle is supposed to be revealed this year in Detroit Auto show and will be available for sale in 2022 in California, U.S.,Europe, and China.

This vehicle will be having a long wheelbase which creates much roomy interior space and more for the third seats row. It is also said that I.D. Buzz will offer an optional technology of self-driving capability. It is the first long-range Volkswagen electric microbus having four compact doors.

The reason behind the Volkswagen is making users to wait so long till 2022 to buy this microbus, is that the company is looking forward to scale up not a few production of these electric cars, but targeting for making up to millions.

Report comes from Volkswagen says that, there is a fast charging CCS DC standard battery, which restores the battery nearly 80%  of energy pack capacity only in 30 minutes with using 150 KW charger.

The original Volkswagen microbus was launched in 1950, having 30 horsepower. But, the new I.D. Buzz iconic microbus version has 369 horsepower on every axle.

Chairman of the Board of Management of Volkswagen, Dr. Herbert Diess, had a statement, “For me, the I.D. Buzz concept is the most beautiful and most exciting electric car in the world. Our goal is clear: we want to make the fully electric, fully connected car a bestseller around the world. The iconic car of the electric age must be a Volkswagen.”
