Hedge funds shift failed bank investing strategies

MarketWatch – Hedge fund firms and other private investors have shifted their strategies for investing in the wave of bank failures breaking across the U.S.

Initially, hedge funds and private-equity investors tried to buy failed banks directly from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. after the institutions were shut down by regulators.
